In order to better serve medical research and pharmaceutical industry, the biobank construction of the second phase of the "Human Genetics Resource Preservation Center of Hubei Province Building" has been capped. The second phase of the project focuses on creating a three-in-one sharing, co-construction and open national sample database of "sample information resources - scientific research - new drug research and development". The center building has 13 floors above ground and 3 floors underground, with a total land area of more than 7,000 square meters, a construction area of nearly 40,000 square meters, and the sample capacity can be expanded to 12 million. It is adjacent to the operating room and has functional areas such as sample pretreatment area, the wet bank, the dry bank and the living bank. Automated transfer stations and track systems are used to transfer samples, and automated programmed freezing and cooling systems, fully automated liquid nitrogen storage systems, automated blood packaging and nucleic acid extraction workstations and other human genetic resource preservation equipment are applied.
