Committee Meeting on the Human Genetics Resource Preservation Center of Hubei Province Held in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University

On March 20th, 2018, a committee meeting on the Human Genetics Resource Preservation Center of Hubei Province was held by the Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province and the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hubei Province in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. Experts from government, universities and hospitals, including Professor Xinghuan Wang, the president of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, Professor Jun Lin, vice party committee secretary, Jianying Huang, commissioner of Research Office, Dr. Yu Xiao, the director of Department of Biological Repositories, Sheng Li, vice director of Department of Biological Repositories, attended the meeting.

 

The committee meeting was chaired by Mingjie Wei, division chief of the Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province. Dr. Yu introduced the main work of the Human Genetics Resource Preservation Center of Hubei Province and answered the questions proposed by the experts from Beijing Cancer Hospital, Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Hospital, Huazhong Agricultural University, Ruijin Hospital, School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiaotong University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, Fuwai Hospital, and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. After the introduction, questioning, and discussion, all the experts on the panel agreed that Human Genetics Resource Preservation Center of Hubei Province should be founded at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. The experts also suggested that Human Genetics Resource Preservation Center of Hubei Province build a sound operating system and an effective sharing mode to strengthen information construction and to reach the international leading level at a regional scale.
